Certificates of custom and conversion to Islam are generally issued for foreigner’s proof of Islam to foreigners, often so that they enjoy their legal rights to marriage, inheritance and burial.

Conditions of award:

Complete and compliant file.

Institution or department concerned :

Under the direction of religious guidance in collaboration with the directorates of religious affairs and wakfs.

Documents requested :

  • Handwritten request.
  • Original birth certificate and two photos.
  • A copy of the identity card or passport.
  • Two (02) witnesses.
  • Fact sheet.
  • Birth certificate of the Muslim spouse or certificate of custom if the applicant is female.

Processing times :

Between two (02) and three (03) days

When and how is delivered:

At the level of the Directorate of Religious Guidance the Directorates of Religious Affairs and Wakfs.

lifelong
